Bti (Bacillus thuringiensis israelensis) is a product used to control mosquito larvae in the water. When spread on the surface of the water the bacteria is released which the mosquito larvae eat, causing their death.
Saginaw County Mosquito Abatement Commission (SCMAC) distrubes this product to our citizens, at no charge, so they can treat mosquito habitat on their property, preventing emergence as adults and reducing the need for Adulticiding. A homeowner can pick this product up from the Maple Grove Township Office and the Mosquito Control’s main office.
Bti is available from May 1st thru October 1st.
